Chotto Ookii’s award winning debut ‘And Even My Goldfish’
showcases our distinctive blend of clowning, choreography and
visual spectacle in all its low-tech glory.
This fast paced and surreal production invites the audience into the
mind of a severely troubled man. His neurotic rampage is peppered
with vacuum cleaner based assaults, disembodied dancing legs and
an ever so slightly worrying growth on his neck.
As he begins to lose his tenuous grip on reality, increasingly losing
himself in his fantasies and visions of an idyllic past, we start to
realise that he may be losing something more than just his mind.
Beneath the clattering of ancient machinery and dormant furnaces lies a surreal workshop designed solely to feed a strange addiction. But what if your supply chain is dependant on three bizarre characters, using technology which makes the industrial revolution look, well...revolutionary. When a plague of surprisingly rhythmic vermin threatens the production line, disastrous consequences seem inevitable.
Chotto Ookii continue to test the definitions of physical theatre, seamlessly combining elements of clown-like comedy, choreography, puppetry and breathtaking visuals.
